Carpets from the Hamadan region: Tafresh is a small town
south west of Tehran, built at the foot of a mountainous area
full of vineyards. Processing is finer than the average
production of the area.The models are decorated with
complex floral decorations with medallions with a round
shape, but there are also the geometric styles of antique carpets.
Equally important are the cantonal usually take up the motifs that
appear in the medallion. The main border consists of an elaborate
sequence of rosettes connected by tendrils. The field is usually red
with blue medallion, but there are also examples of the opposite color.
The structure is usually made of cotton, with knotting asymmetrical.
