The Johan carpets are of excellent quality, knotted in
the homonym village, in the north-west of Iran located
near Malayer.These rugs are inspired by motifs of Saruq
products at the beginning of the twentieth century.
The reasons are more delicate, with vases designed in
a subtle or medallions with or without corner motifs.These
carpets are also called Jozan Saruq or Malayer Saruq and
have a remarkable resemblance to the Saruq malayer
carpets, both qualitatively as drawing.
They are made on vertical loom n s with weft and warp
in cotton and pile in wool, the density of their nodes
4500-5000 to cmq.The colors most often used are red,
cream and a very intense shades of blue.
